QuestBlue Message Update - March 16, 2023

10DLC Messaging

On January 25, 2023, we communicated that QuestBlue’s SMS aggregator will no longer support unregistered 10DLC traffic after March 31, 2023. As of that date, all outbound SMS and MMS traffic sent from DIDs that are not registered with an existing 10DLC Campaign will be rejected.

As a reminder, you can register all 10DLC traffic in the QuestBlue portal under 10DLC Brands & Campaigns

Toll-Free Messaging

Effective April 1, 2023, the industry’s toll-free aggregator is implementing new limits to messaging traffic for restricted and pending toll-free numbers. Messaging that exceeds a limit will return as undelivered for TFN not verified.

The new limits are as follows:

Restricted numbers “Unverified/Unregistered”:

Current limit

Limit effective April 1, 2023

Daily limit

2,000

500

Weekly limit

12,000

1,000

Monthly limit

25,000

2,000

Pending numbers:

Current limit

Limit effective April 1, 2023

Daily limit

No limit

2,000

Weekly limit

No limit

6,000

Monthly limit

500,000

10,000

In the near future, the verification process will need to be completed before sending any traffic from a toll-free number. The official date will be shared in the coming weeks.

What do you need to do?

The best way to continue sending high volumes of toll-free traffic is to register your Toll-Free numbers in the QuestBlue portal under TF Campaigns. If you have already verified your toll-free numbers, no action is required.

The toll-free messaging authority is currently experiencing a higher-than-normal volume of verification requests, so please submit your numbers for verification as soon as possible, prioritizing your high-traffic numbers, to avoid any negative impact due to the new daily, weekly, and monthly limits. The TF messaging authority’s backlog that we were seeing take 4 – 5 weeks to review a submitted campaign at the end of 2022 is now closer to a 6 – 8 weeks cycle.
